Paavo has a 35-year track record in Transport Forecasting and Travel Demand Modelling, Transport System Plans, Land Use and Transport Interaction, Digitalization, Transport Pricing issues, CBA Assessments, Urban/regional & Transport Strategy plans and National Infrastructure projects and Plans. He also has substantial experience in international transport & land-use research and consulting and coordinated large consortia in the EU Framework Research Programmes. Previously he founded and headed **the Digital Mobility Lab of Smart Mobility Spearhead in Ramboll**, a leading engineering, design and consultancy company founded in Denmark in 1945. Digital Mobility Lab specialises in digitalisation of Transport Systems and Smart Mobility. He was **the CTO in Kyyti Group**, Helsinki during 2015-2021, Finland leading the technical development of a MaaS/OnDemand door-to-door shared ride platform providing travel chains e.g. using  taxi services connected with public transport services. During 2000-2019 he was a founding partner and **the Chairman of the Board in Strafica Ltd**, a Finnish consultancy now part of Ramboll Group helping public authorities to manage transport systems. During 80’s and 90’s he worked in LT-Consultants Ltd, Finland (nowadays part of WSP Group) as a head of R&D Department and in Marcial Echenique and Partners in Cambridge, UK (also part of WSP nowadays) and in Government Institute for Economic Research in Finland (VATT).
